American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI)
The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) represents legal reserve life insurance
companies and fraternal benefit societies operating in the United States. ACLI's
members account for the overwhelming majority of the life insurance premiums
and annuity considerations in the United States.
Association of Advanced Life Underwriters (AALU)
The Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), a conference of NAIFA,
is a national association of nearly 2,000 advanced life insurance professionals
who are committed to preserving insurance through political involvement.
Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD)
Since 1970, ACORD has been serving the insurance industry. Initially, they developed
standard ACORD Forms to enable information sharing in the industry. In the 1980s,
they began the task of providing the industry with standards for electronic data
sharing. With the addition of the OLifE standard in 1996, they added data integration
to their package of services.
General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA)
GAMA International serves the professional development needs of individuals
and companies engaged in the ethical distribution of financial services and
products.

Life Underwriters Training Council (LUTC)
The American College’s LUTC Program resulted from the combination of The
American College with the premier sales trainer LUTC, Inc., in July 2001. LUTC
(formerly known as the Life Underwriter Training Council) was founded in 1947
by three of the life insurance industry’s leading organizations: the
American Council of Life Insurance (ACLI), LIMRA International and the National
Association
of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA, formerly NALU).

LIMRA International, Inc. was founded in 1916 to support and enhance the marketing
functions of life insurance companies through original research, as well as products
and services based on that research.

National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is the organization
of insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the
four U.S. territories. The NAIC provides a forum for the development of uniform
policy when uniformity is appropriate.
